Actelis to supply broadband services to Philippine Telco - The company declined to disclose the value of the contract although market sources believe it to be worth to several million dollars

Sources inform "Globes" that Israeli start-up Actelis Networks, a manufacturer of equipment for Ethernet transmission over copper networks, has secured a contract with a telecommunications company in the Philippines. The company declined to disclose the value of the contract although market sources believe it to be worth to several million dollars.

Actelis will supply its 'Ethernet in the first mile' (EFMPlus) solutions to Bayan Telecommunications Inc. (BayanTel), the second largest fixed line telecommunications company in the Philippines. Actelis's solutions will enable BayanTel to use existing copper lines to extend the reach of their Ethernet services beyond their fiber network to more businesses with fiber-like speeds and resiliency. The systems will be used to provide direct service to business customers, and they will also enable the connection of remote DSL systems for the provision of broadband services to domestic customers.

BayanTel assistant VP and head of network engineering Ronald G. Brusola said, "Actelis' EFMplus technology-based solutions seamlessly integrate with our fiber-optic network equipment, enabling us to deliver high-quality broadband services to our customers. The company's DSLAM backhaul solution also empowers us to extend our reach and provide the same high bandwidth broadband services to remote subscribers that subscribers living closer to the urban centers enjoy."
